Intramural Co-Director
POSITION PURPOSE: The Intramural Director is responsible for directing, organizing, supervising, and evaluating all intramural programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Directs, organizes, supervises, and evaluates all intramural programs.
- Coordinate’s game and tournament schedules.
- Secures and oversees the facilities.
- Develops rules and guidelines for participants and volunteers.
- Secures all necessary equipment.
- Designs and implements a new program to meet the needs of the community.
- Works with the Athletic Director for all matters relating to the organization, administration, and philosophy of the sport under his/her direction.
- Serves in a leadership capacity to the community program.
- Works closely with the Athletic Director to schedule facility use.
- Models’ sportsmanship-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct.
- Enforces all rules.
- Enforces discipline and sportsmanship-like behavior at all times and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individuals.
- Ensures that no bullying/hazing occurs.
- Responsible for collection of fees and ordering equipment.
- Oversees the safety condition of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted
- Enforces rules and regulations concerning conditioning of players and their health and safety.
- Reports injuries to the athletic trainer through personal communication, as well as completing and submitting incident reports to the athletic trainer and Athletic Office.
- Exercises great care in dealing with all injuries and particularly those that are of a serious nature. In all cases, the director should assure that the injured participant receives competent medical care.
- Provides supervision of all participants until they have left the building and/or site.
- Ensures that all windows, doors, and gates are locked in any area that has been used.
- Plans all practice sessions and competitions.
- Ensures a positive environment free of hazing, harassment, bullying and intimidating language and behaviors.
- Plans and executes special events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication, motivational and organization skills.
- Team building abilities and working in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrate success in area of application.
WORK CALENDAR: Per extracurricular schedule
SALARY: Per extracurricular schedule (Group 10) and experience
