POSITION SUMMARY: Position is responsible for performing technical support; troubleshooting, problem solving, preventative maintenance, service and repair of Electrical / Mechanical Systems on division product line that includes Multi Spindle Automatic Turning Machines and Swiss CNC. Incumbent performs all job functions in a high quality, efficient and timely manner. Incumbent works as a member of a team and assists team members as required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Incumbent travels via vehicle or by airplane to customer locations.
- Performs troubleshooting, problem solving and repair of Electrical Systems / Mechanical on Multi Spindle Automatic Turning Machines and Swiss CNC.
- Based on business need performs high quality, efficient and timely machine preparation and accessory installation for new machines
- Incumbent ensures high quality levels/standards in all work performed and follows all safety procedures and requirements.
- Trains and instructs customers, and internal team members, on proper installation, electronic service/repair procedures for current and new equipment/machines and processes.
- Consults with other team members, internal departments and/or external vendors to resolve issues related to installation and service/repair.
- Accurately documents, completes and reports required information for work records and reports using Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Continuously reviews current processes and searches out improvement methods. Recommends modifications and improvements to machine/equipment, processes and procedures.
- Based on business need, assists, supports and/or performs other job functions within department or other work area’s within scope and ability.
- Responsible for maintaining current technical, interpersonal, and communication skills through continuous development. Progressive development of skills should be cultivated through further education, seminars, company training and other external resources such as reading material
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electronics or equivalent in formal education/training in Mechanical / Electronic Controls troubleshooting and PLC Control Systems.
- Minimum of 2 year’s demonstrated experience in Electronic troubleshooting to module level.
- Experience required in using the PLC Language standard IEC 61131-3.
- Knowledge/exposure to hydraulics, pneumatic, mechanical operations is a plus.
- Experience required in Controls/PLC’s, Ladder Logic, and structured text programming on; Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Fanuc or Siemens is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude required.
- Demonstrated application and commitment of customer satisfaction.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professional conduct when dealing with customers, peers, builder representatives and suppliers.
- Demonstrated self-starter and effective planning and organization skills.
- Ability to participate as a member of a team, crossing department and divisional lines.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel and word for documentation and record keeping.
- Physical demands; bending, stooping, standing, lifting, pushing and pulling
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and evening hours as required by customer. Travel up to 90% of the time.
- A valid Driver’s License, a good driving record, and the ability to “legally” operate a company “Service” vehicle/or personal vehicle for company business.
- Must have good financial stability and maintain a credit card for travel for meals and hotel expense. Air Fare is paid direct by company. Business Expense Reimbursement is processed weekly with timely expense reporting.
- Must be able to obtain a Passport and maintain a valid status for international travel.
Working Conditions: Manufacturing work environment which includes; moving mechanical machine parts, potentially loud equipment, with exposure to a variety of non-hazardous and hazardous chemicals and airborne particles. Hands on work with machine tool equipment. CRT viewing and key entry. Internal/external customer communications with vendor and supplier contact.
