Objectives of this role
- Deliver a high standard of medical care according to the specific orders of each patient’s physician
- Work alongside staff members as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team
- Follow a model of care that supports the wellness of our patients and staff
- Serve as a primary source of medical information for patients and caregivers
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment of care for patients and their families
- Identify, assess, and monitor patients’ health conditions
- Administer medications and provide treatment according to physician’s orders
- Provide health education, medication review, healthcare coordination, and specialist referrals
- Monitor blood pressure and chronic conditions
- Ensure that all treatments and medications are fully documented in patients’ health records
- Bachelor’s of science degree (or equivalent) in nursing
- Licensure as a registered nursewith the state of practice
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Specialized certifications relevant to your healthcare organization's needs, such as Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or other specialty certifications.
- Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, the ability to analyze complex situations, and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments.
- Proficient in performing nursing procedures, administering medications, using medical equipment, and utilizing electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Communication skills, including effective written and verbal communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Prioritize patient-centered care, showing empathy, compassion, and the ability to advocate for patients' needs and preferences.
