Job Description :
The Campus Safety Communications desk advisor serves as the campus point of contact for safety and security on Goucher’s campus.
This responsibility is carried out through being assigned to the Communications desk and answering the campus emergency line, as well as monitoring the Campus Shield App and assisting walk-ins.
This is an essential personnel position. Employees will be assigned to evening, night, or rotating shifts, which may include holidays and weekends.
Employees may be subject to call- in and overtime based on staffing needs and will be required to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
Employees in this position must be willing and available for duty at all hours, day or night, and are required to remain or report for duty at all hours as needed to maintain the continuous operation of this agency.
Essential Job Functions :
30% A. Answering all incoming calls to the Campus Safety Emergency line. Monitoring the Campus Shield App, DSX access control, and the Campus Fire Alarm alert panel.
30% B. Dispatches patrol units to all emergency and calls for service. Documents and tracks through utilization of the daily blotter all emergencies and calls for service.
Facilitates all notification efforts for emergencies and hazard reports.
15% C. Monitors the Campus Fire Alarm alert panel and reports any noted issues indicated by the system.
10% D. Issues parking decals to campus community members and ensures daily shift status report is completed and submitted to the Lead Supervisor.
Edits One Card access for community members.
5% E. Notifies the shift supervisor of any equipment or supplies that needs to be refilled or repaired.
5% F. Communicate and maintain good relationships with faculty, staff, students, other law enforcement agencies and public officials.
Education :
Required : High School diploma
Preferred : Associates Degree
Professional Experience :
Required : 1 years of Communications / Dispatch
