Embark on an adventure with us in the fast-paced world of commercial waste management! We're expanding our team and have exciting positions open for dynamic Field Service Technicians (FST). Our FSTs play a crucial role in servicing commercial balers, compactors, and various waste-related equipment across the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area. This position requires a knack for diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment.
Key Duties:
- Drive our state-of-the-art service vehicle to customer sites for inspection and/or repairs.
- Ensure equipment longevity through preventive maintenance services.
- Masterfully troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and structural systems.
- Stay connected: Consistently update customers and management on repair status.
- Utilize advanced electronic systems (e.g., multimeter, tablet) to diagnose and address equipment issues.
- Estimate and manage resources, requisition parts, and track compactor and baler repair costs.
- Responsibly complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Go above and beyond, answering after-hour service calls for emergencies on a rotational schedule.
- Keep it neat: Fill out required paperwork, documenting parts usage and repair times.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians to complete projects.
- Maintain a pristine workspace in compliance with corporate/OSHA standards.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending schematics.
- A knack for hydraulics repair and knowledge a definite advantage.
- Welding (MIG) experience a strong plus.
- Demonstrated experience working on and with industrial machinery.
- A clean driving record, capable of safely hauling and reversing small trailers.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed and join our on-call tech rotation.
- Excellent attention to detail and unwavering commitment to customer service.
- Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical strength to lift up to 50 lbs.
