What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Optics Splicer position at Gpac?
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
Company: Looking for experienced fiber optic splicers to join our team.
Responsibilities
Splice fiber optic cables, both loose tube and ribbon. Assemble splice case, including grounding, bonding, isolation, storage, and sealing.
Read and interpret splicing diagrams.
Perform routine maintenance and emergency repair as called upon.
All applicants must follow safety guidelines at all times.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
Working knowledge of fiber optic color code.
Working knowledge of fusion splice machine OTDR, power meter, and live traffic identifier.
Ability to troubleshoot network related issues with provided test equipment.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work in all weather environments and willing to travel for projects in Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2yrs fiber optic splicing and troubleshooting using common industry test gear and tools;
Able to work outdoors in all @types of weather;
