Job Title: Human Resources Generalist
Reports To: HR Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Summary:
Responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level while working closely with other HR team members. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: compensation/payroll, benefits administration, employee relations both union and nonunion, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, employment law compliance and records management.
Job duties:
1. Track union employee attendance and timecards daily
2. Compile and distribute required reports such as monthly departmental overtime report
3. Responsible for full cycle recruitment of employees
4. Complete required unemployment claims
5. Create union employee corrective action/reprimand documentation and follow the process through based on collective bargaining agreement
6. Responsible for petty cash, distribution of meal tickets and tool allowance based on policy
7. Responsible for scanning, filing, maintaining employee's personnel files, Human Resources documents and accessing personnel files to address employee inquires
8. Conduct new employee orientation for employees
9. Administer 401K Program for eligible employees
10. Responsible for payroll administration on weekly basis for union and non-union employees, to include verifying union employees are paid correctly through E-Time based on collective bargaining unit agreement
11. Responsible for benefit administration including compliance with ACA
12. Responsible for policy and collective bargaining unit agreement implementation
13. Perform other related duties and special projects, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree and three to five years' experience in Human Resources or master's degree in Human Resources and two years' experience in Human Resources field. Experience with payroll administration in a manufacturing environment required.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
1. Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency in other Microsoft Office 365 Applications.
2. Must be detailed oriented.
3. Proficient in time management with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
4. Excellent interpersonal communication (verbal and written) skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels.
5. Ability to keep confidentiality, dependable, organized and teamwork oriented.
6. Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES and REGISTRATIONS:
SHRM or HRCI Certification Preferred
TYPE/NATURE OF CONTACTS:
This position interfaces with all candidates, employees, supervisors, managers, and senior management. External contact is with outside insurance carriers, brokers, vendors, federal and state labor offices, etc.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position is a desk job with frequent time spent sitting. This position rarely requires walking in the Plant. This position requires prolonged attention to detailed data and high degree of accuracy. Some lifting of ~10lbs sometimes may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is in an office environment with rarely any exposure to extreme heat and cold. This position never has any exposure to chemical irritants.
