Our client, a full service Real Estate Investment and Property Management company, is looking to add a top-notch Office Manager to their growing team. This role will be vital and multi-faceted, consisting of accounting and administrative support functions. This is the lead in-house accounting role, working under the guidance of a 3rd party corporate accountant. This position will also be responsible for the assurance of accurate reporting of payroll and general administrative tasks. Responsibilities:
- Act as lead in-house accountant working closely with the CEO, Managing Director, Operations Director, Property Managers, and 3rd party Accountant
- Process accounts payable and receivables
- Compile statistical, financial, accounting, and auditing reports and tables pertaining to cash, receipts, expenditures, accounts payable & receivable, and profits & loss, under the guidance of 3rd party accountant
- Responsible for maintaining financial records in paper and cloud-based filing systems
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for 3rd for review by 3rd party and Operations Manager
- Ensure that all financial transactions are entered into QuickBooks/AppFolio per company directives
- Process payroll/timesheets in accordance with Connecticut labor code
- Ensure the implementation of policies and procedures for new hires, resignations, and termination of employees, including background checks and confidentiality
- Purchase and maintain inventory of office supplies and materials
- Serve as receptionist as needed
- Provide hospitality support and preparation of meetings with 3rd-party clients
Requirements:
- Associate degree (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred
- 3-years proven experience in the Real Estate or Financial industry is a plus!
- A/P, A/R, payroll processing experience
- Understanding of Property Management in relation to financial accounting, recoveries, budgets, and forecasting is a plus
- Proficient with QuickBooks, AppFolio, Microsoft Office
- Excellent communicator; team player with a passion for learning and contributing
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
