Job Description: Executive Director/Vice President - Legal
Our client is looking for an Executive Director/Vice President for their legal department. This is a great opportunity to join a commercial stage biotech company developing neurological therapies. This position will supervises attorneys, paralegals, and an administrative assistant.
Requirements:
- At least 8 years of legal experience and 5 years in a law firm setting
- Some in-house experience preferred
- Experience with SEC filings, corporate records, corporate governance, M&A
- Experience with federal and state pharmaceutical laws is preferred
- Business and commercial law experience is required, including drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts
- Comfortable counseling and interacting with C-level executives and Directors
- Excellent business judgment; able to think strategically and give practical advice while balancing business needs with legal risks
- J.D. in at least one US state or the District of Columbia
This position requires 10% travel depending on the demands of the business. Travel is for attendance at meetings and conferences.
