This position is a multifaceted position focused on Nursing Education. Ideal candidate will have a BSN with critical care experience and teaching experience preferred. This position is full-time postion. Approximately 20 hours per week at Grace Parma located at 7007 Powers Blvd, within UH Parma Hospital on the third floor and 20 hours per week at Specialty Hospital of Lorain located at 254 Cleveland Ave, Amherst.
Qualifications:
Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Must have a BSN Degree.
Experience: Previous management experience required; 2-3 years of critical care experience preferred
Other: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio; Certified in BLS & ACLS; Must have BLS Instructor (or able to obtain within 6 months) demonstrated leadership ability; professional demeanor in communication, appearance, attitude, and performance; possession of a degree of creativity and latitude.

Job Specific Duties
1. Provides teaching and skill development through one-on-one interaction with staff during the delivery of patient care and serves as a clinical/performance role model.
2. Plans and conducts in-services, orientation, and educational programs for clinical personnel in order to meet competency assessment requirements in conformance with departmental objectives, Joint Commission, and other accreditation standards.
3. Schedules time to afford reasonable interaction with staff on all shifts.
4. Includes principles of adult learning, change theory, and quality management in teaching plans.
5. Plans and prepares curriculum content and course outlines in conformance with program objectives and modifies and updates existing educational programs and recommends modifications as appropriate.
6. Coordinates educational programs for assigned services and serves as internal consultant for specialized clinical instruction.
7. Assesses educational needs of learners and collaborates with the Nurse Supervisors and nursing leadership to develop plans to meet recognized needs; evaluates effectiveness of instruction and makes recommendations for program/content revision.
8. Develops or assists in the development of patient education programs, presentations, and materials.
9. Works in collaboration with administration and department managers to plan seminars, workshops, educational programs and related activities.
10. Keeps abreast of new developments in training techniques, methods, and programs for possible application by Education Department. Attends workshops and seminars in order to update knowledge and skill related to critical care and the LTACH patient. Selects and organizes appropriate teaching aides, including films, slides, charts, supplies, and equipment.
