Administrative Assistant Summary

The Administrative Assistant provides support and care to students, faculty and staff, and parents. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Office Manager and is evaluated by the Head of School.

Required Professional Qualities

It is expected that the Administrative Assistant will have:

· Proven successful experience in an office environment with a heart for customer service.

· Possess skills to work in a fast-paced environment with strong ability to prioritize tasks and navigate challenging situations.

· Demonstrate excellent, effective, and intentional verbal and written communication skills.

· Able to work collaboratively with Head of School, office staff, teachers, students and parents.

· Experience working or volunteering with elementary age children.

· Demonstrates competence and experience with current technology and excellent organizational skills.

· Have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

· Can articulate a Classical Christian educational philosophy to faculty, staff, parents, students, and the community.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· A clear Washington State Background Check and clear drug test (completed before employment begins).

· A current First Aid/CPR card (this may be earned after employment begins)

Work Environment, Hours and Compensation

The Administrative Assistant serves year-round. Each contract year is from August 1st – July 31st of the following year. The work hours on School Days are normally Monday – Friday, 7:15 am – 3:15 pm (with ½ hour for lunch each day). The summer office hours are part-time from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm Monday -Friday.

The Salary for this full-time position is $2,720/month or $32,650 annually. The hours will vary on Professional Development Days. This position works on all school days, Professional development days and throughout the summer. This position will also need to regularly respond to email and handle certain tasks on selected days/hours during Christmas break, mid-winter break, spring break, and snow days (although these tasks may be completed remotely when the school is closed).
