JOB SUMMARY
The Grand Cities Mall Custodian is responsible for the overall atmosphere of the property, ensuring guests, tenants, and employees have a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This position may include some minor maintenance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Floor care: cleans, mops, washes, sweeps, and vacuums floors
- Restrooms: cleans and maintains overall cleanliness
- Carpet care: vacuuming and extracting
- Entryways: cleaning glass, maintaining entryway cleanliness
- Trash removal: monitors, empties, and cleans trash receptacles
- Fixtures & furniture: cleans, dusts, and polishes all necessary permanent and temporary fixtures
- Exterior: maintains outside walking areas and parking lot – sweeping debris, shoveling snow, sanding sidewalks, pulling weeds, and maintaining landscape
- Events: setup and teardown tables/chairs, assisting vendors, and monitor cleanliness of event
- General Repairs: changing light bulbs, tightening chairs, checking safety of fixtures and doors
- Equipment to be used: scrubber, low speed, burnisher, general hand tools, ladders, scissor lift, snowblower, weed trimer, etc.
- Performs any additional tasks as requested by management
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous work experience as custodian is a plus
- Organizational skills, ability to problem solve, and attentive to details
- Possesses solid interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work with little supervision and direction while maintaining workload
- Reputation of honest, trustworthy, dependable, and team player
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- RESPONSIBLE TO: Facilities Manager
- WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Office Manager/Assistant Mall Manager, Facilities Manager, maintenance/custodial staff, administrative assistant, tenants, contractors, and HOPE Church staff
SALARY RANGE/BENEFITS
- Position is an hourly rate determined by experience ranging between $13.50 - $15.00

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hours of work are 40 hours per week, with additional hours as needed
- The position will consist of walking, standing, kneeling, and sitting
- Handling cleaning chemicals and exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, and unpleasant odors
- Must be able to list/carry up to 35 pounds
- Will work in inclement weather such as heat, cold, snow, and rain
