Eligible for Critical Shortage Adjustment. This is a one time payment per semester equivalent to an additional $1 per hour adjustment for hours worked, capped at $1,000 per employee for fiscal year 2022-2023.
If you are hired for this position, you will receive $200 upon successful performance and consistent employment in June at the completion of the school year if referred by a Grand Forks Public School current employee. Terms of Employment: Nine (9) months, academic school year
Hours: 8:00am - 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, when school is in session
Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency, Elementary Education Degree Preferred
Qualifications: Basic academic skills, excellent communication and human relation skills. Desire to assist high-risk students to be successful remaining flexible according to varied student needs. Ability to remain open-minded, fair and motivated in this environment.
Job Goal: Work directly with teacher(s) involved with students who are enrolled in the School within a School (SWIS) program. These students will be on individualized plans that are meant help them build skills that will promote school and life success, while attending some traditional classes at Central High School when they are not in the SWIS program. There are two specific SWIS programs, one for students who are challenged by anxiety and school avoidance and another for whom behaviors have prevented them from being successful. Each of them will look to identify student’s skill gaps and create plans to address these needs.
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely. Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Evaluation: Job performance will be evaluated by the Supervising Teacher, Building Administrator.
