Key responsibilities include the following. Others may be assigned.
- Monitors the daily operating control (DOC), recommending improved courses of action where necessary.
- Provides dealer with accurate weekly reports on the financial condition of the dealership.
- Plans annual dealership operation goals and budget to submit for dealer approval.
- Develop and monitor performance of department monthly and annual goals and objectives with managers.
- Hires, trains, and motivates all dealership department managers.
- Directs and monitors all dealership management or supervisory personnel functions and completes formal performance evaluations of all department managers at regularly scheduled intervals.
- Reviews and approves compensation plans for all employees.
- Meets with the office manager monthly to review departmental forecasts for consistency and to ensure that records and analyses are maintained accurately.
- Ensures that the monthly financial statement is complete, accurate, and submitted on time to the factory.
- Develops and maintains a good working relationship with lending institutions and manufacturer personnel.
- Communicates management policies and procedures to all employees and ensures that they are understood and followed.
- Resolves any customer complaints that department managers are unable to rectify.
- Develops marketing message and assists in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
- Reviews all requests for training, approves those which are appropriate and consistent with the dealership's goals for professional/technical ability and advancement, and monitors their effectiveness.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) with two to four years related experience; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong management skills with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding annual budgets and goals set forth by both the dealer and manufacturer.
- Working knowledge of automotive industry and dealership best practices that follow our core values.
- Valid driver’s license.
