Landscape associate

Pali Mountain is seeking Landscapers to help maintain our beautiful site. We operate as a summer camp, outdoor education facility, and retreat center.

Pali has guests and operates 365 days a year, this includes during inclement weather.

Pali landscaping staff have access to tools for work as well as on-site transportation to get around the site and access to the shop during work hours.

Duties are dependent on program needs as well as issues that come up. Pali serves guests of all ages. Projects and maintenance occur while guests are on-site, so safety is paramount.

Must be 18yrs or older to apply. Experience is a must.

Ideal Candidate(s) have :

• Reliable Transportation - Pali Operates year Round
• Ability to be self-motivated and solution oriented.
• Physically able to lift 50lbs, walk-up three flights of stairs, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, work outdoors in inclement weather, use hand tools such as weed whackers, rakes, shovels, leaf blowers, chainsaws, etc.,
• Customer focused mind-set
• Ability to work in a team
• Strong work ethic

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Skills :

Landscapers are responsible for all basic property and yard maintenance on site and at off-site housing projects including the following but not limited to,

• Raking, weed whacking, blowing, tree limbing, chain saw work, digging and planting.
• Using employer supplied vehicles for travel to pick up supplies and tools as needed.
• Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
• Removing debris, and dangerous materials from your work site.
• Experienced with using a boom lift for tree work.
• Experience in irrigation, trenching, annual yard fire abatement, spraying weed chemicals.
• Ability to use and maintain common landscape power tools. Electric, gas and 2 stroke.
• Experience with installation of Sod, Plants and Trees.
• Mows, edges, weeds, ad maintains lawns, fields, flowerbeds, and other landscaped areas.
• Trims and prunes shrubs and trees, applies repellents and pesticides.
• Prepares areas for planting by clearing, grading, fertilizing, and watering ground areas, preparing ground by roto-tiling, weed oiling, and laying plastic, plants flowers, shrubs, trees and lays rocks.
• Performs general ground maintenance duties in picking up leaves, paper and trash in grounds areas, cleans and removes weeds from sidewalks, parking lots, roads.
• Utilizes proper safety precautions related to all work performed.
• Experienced in various methods and techniques of mowing, edging, pruning and trimming a variety of lawns, shrubs and trees.

Complies with all Company practices, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.

• Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, computer, fax machine, printers, and copiers.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills

Salary and Benefits :

• Landscapers $20-$22 hr
• Part-Time potential for addtl hours
