TITLE: Specialty Clinic LPN or RN
DEPARTMENT: Grant Regional Community Specialty Clinic

POSITION STATUS/HOURS: Full-time .9 FTE (72 hours/pay period).

Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

REPORTS TO: Specialty and Outpatient Clinic Manager

JOB SUMMARY
:
The Specialty Clinic LPN/RN will work with our ENT providers in the specialty & outpatient clinic, along with being a patient liaison for Dr. Chilson’s surgical patients. The LPN/RN will be expected to travel with Dr. Chilson to his Darlington Clinic one day a week. Work schedule subject to change to meet the needs of the clinic/patients.

ESSENTIAL TASKS/DUTIES:
The LPN/RN will work in the Grant Regional Specialty Outpatient Clinic and will:
  • Work with physicians, mid-level providers, RN, LPN, CMA and registration staff in a pod nursing environment
  • Room patients, prepare for visit, and assist provider with patient care, visit, and flow
  • Perform tasks such as specimen collection/testing/recording of results/labeling, vision/color testing, cultures, hematology testing, glucose testing, pregnancy testing, etc.
  • Assist, prepare, and administer immunizations and other injections; administer medications by all routes excluding intravenous infusion, as directed
  • Assist with and knowledge of surgical technique and set up surgical tray assist with minor office surgeries
  • Office skills: answer phone, take/return accurate messages; phone prescriptions to pharmacy, telephone lab/test results to patient
  • Obtain insurance authorizations
  • Work with other health care providers to assist in the provision of delegated aspects of patient care
  • Use basic communication skills to enhance a patient’s expression of needs
  • Organize, within the specified work period, those delegated aspects of care for which he/she is accountable
  • Ensure patient satisfaction by providing kind, attentive and conscientious care
  • Assist with other duties as time permits

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The candidate will be a graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse Program (if LPN) or Registered Nurse Program (if RN)

  • Current LPN or RN License in the state of Wisconsin.

  • Prior clinic experience working directly with Specialty doctors/surgeons preferred.

  • Willing to travel to Darlington office one day a week (maybe subject to change).
  • Knowledge of ENT terms, procedures, and equipment preferred.

  • CPR certification is required (or completed within 60 days of hire).

  • In addition, the candidate must exhibit a professional manner, display strong decision-making skills within his/her scope of practice, demonstrate good organizational skills, be flexible and display strong interpersonal skills.
