What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production & Warehouse Manager position at Graphic Products?
Summary/Objective:
Responsible for ensuring the warehouse facility operates as safely and efficiently as possible.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure company policies are followed (health, safety, and security)
- Work with and effectively communicate with management concerning all operational issues
- Oversee the daily workflow of the warehouse; schedules and organizes staff to ensure proper staffing
- Direct in-house adjustments to operational procedures as needed
- Establish warehouse practices and protocols to achieve an efficient warehouse
- Monitor workplace performance and leads training initiatives
- Implement operational policies and procedures
- Crosstrain existing employees to ensure there is complete coverage throughout the day
- Continuous training of Team Leads and Supervisors
- Maintain documentation and keep accurate records of warehouse activities
- Resolve supply chain issues and provide additional oversight to all employee responses
- Ensure product quality
- Manage employee timecards and time off requests
- Daily production goals through direct oversight and managing output
- Oversee the maintenance of product inventory
- Stock rotation
- Space allocation
- Material defects and discrepancies
- Daily and weekly inventory checks
- Familiarity with ERP software
- Maintain knowledge of all processes and material types
- Delegation of workload and structuring the production queue for the most efficient use of time
- Propose ideas for equipment upgrades/modifications and planning their integration in a manner that reduces impact on production
- Research and testing of new equipment necessary for continued growth of the production department, and the company
- Safe operating forklifts, both ride on and walk behind, and ensuring that other operators are following safety guidelines
- Forklift trainer for all new users
- Hires and trains new warehouse employees
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive and takes disciplinary action when necessary

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Temperature controlled warehouse
- Moderate noise levels
- Daily interactions with numerous employees
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly, and up to 100 pounds on occasion
- Occasional periods of prolonged standing
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in lieu of degree
- Suggested areas of study include supply chain, logistics, and management
- Stable work history
