Crusher Operator

The Isabella Pearl Mine is located at the West end of the Santa Fe mining district in the Walker Lane Gold Belt; northeast of Luning, Nevada, in Mineral County.The Crusher Operator operates the crushing plant and associated belt conveyors to produce the maximum amount of ore, subject to permit restraints, and deliver it to the stacking conveyor. Oversees the general mechanical condition of the crusher while making rounds through the plant. Monitors the flow and pressure drop gauges and takes immediate corrective action to repair as necessary. Performs general operations and maintenance work as directed by the Process/Crusher Superintendent.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY & DUTIES:

• Provide accurate and complete records as required for specific tasks.

• Maintain a safe and clean work area.

• Employees’ successful safety and environmental performance is a key part of this job.

• Operates the crushing plant to produce the maximum allowable amount of ore while maintaining the mechanical condition of the equipment.

• Troubleshoots problems as they arise to maintain crusher production rates.

• Monitors cone crusher and screen temperatures to ensure sound mechanical condition.

• Performs various duties as directed by supervisor.

Safety & Environmental:

• Responsible and accountable for the performance, and compliance of mine site safety and environmental policies and procedures for all personnel and vendors

• Participate in Planned General Inspections

• Provide safety and environmental leadership by always setting a good example

Key Relationships:

• This role requires frequent interaction with the department employees, supervision, management, and vendors to provide assistance, service, support, and problem resolution as needed

• Ability to build trust and develop positive working relationships with site personnel and regulatory agencies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-year experience in mineral processing mills, aggregate processing plants, or equivalent maintenance background.

• - 1 - 2 years experience operating mobile equipment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must work rotating weekend shifts to provide seven-day per week support.

• Ability to operate a variety of light equipment, hand trucks, and vehicles.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.

• Able to wear and demonstrate to employees the use of personal protective equipment including hardhat, steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, earplugs, gloves (rubber, leather & cloth), and/or any other equipment required to do the job assigned safely.

• Able to lift 50 pounds periodically and 100 pounds occasionally.

• Able to read and interpret various safety warning signs and product MSDS, tags, and labels.

• Ability to distinguish various colors as they relate to safety warning signs, tags, and labels.

• Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating Warehouse information, issuing directives, and providing feedback, to management and subordinates.

• Ability to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.
