Position Summary: The principal serves as the educational leader responsible for development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of a comprehensive program of instructional and student services.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer district programs in accordance with board policies, statutory requirements, and administrative rules and
- Utilize the strategic plan, district goals and policy, and the approved district and school improvement plans to guide both personal leadership and the work of the school
- Monitor implementation of district and school plans and provides feedback to district leadership to make adjustments over
- Knowledge of local, state, federal, and authorizer regulations and expectations, and how they apply to Great Lakes Learning
- Assist the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in facilitating the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with state and district learning
- Actively seek data from a wide range of sources and integrate the information into actionable reports for
- Assist staff in using data to guide, modify and improve teaching and
- Build systematic communication methods with staff and the school community, both orally and in
- Support the professional learning of staff as it relates to the mission, vision, and goals of the district and
- Empower the building and team level leaders to make decisions to get consistent, high-quality
- Actively support a culture of collaboration, growth, and transparency throughout the
- Promote collaboration, trust, learning, and high expectations for staff and
- Effectively identify and prioritize significant issues and delegate related tasks as
- Effectively manage conflict and performance issues, including Individual Performance Improvement
- Respect, support, and implement district and school decisions and policies, and act to ensure that staff are equally
- Articulate the district’s purpose and priorities to all
- Ability to work from the school campus during scheduled hours in order to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, parents and the general public.
