- Position SummaryScribe II is responsible for assisting in documentation of clinic based patient visits including Outreach site clinic visits conducted by a physician; assists clinic staff and physician with prior authorization, chart documentation and preparation of orders. In addition, this position provides routine patient care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical record; provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the clinic unit/department.
- Minimum Qualifications
- EducationHigh School Diploma or GED. Medical Terminology and transcription education preferred
- Credentials
- Active driver's license required.
- Current Nurse Aide licensure in the state of Nebraska.
- Required certifications: BLS
- Oxygen certification (Medication Aide Training Hospital based) required within 6 months of hiring. Update to be completed every 2 years.
Medical Aid background preferred. Prior experience in medical office transcription or documentation. Experience with Epic, Eclipsys/Allscripts, Chartmax preferred.

- Essential Functions
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of English grammar, medical transcription guidelines and practices, punctuation, vocabulary, medical terminology, anatomy and correct spelling skills.
- Access Epic, Eclipsys/Allscripts, Chartmaxx and other resources to verify, create and document patient information pertinent to the clinical documentation.
- Demonstrate competency in MS Word, Digital Voice dictation system, McKesson RIS/PAC system, Epic, Eclipsys/Allscripts and Chartmaxx.
- Utilizes excellent verbal and written communication skills to assist physician, nurses, office staff, and other ancillary departments; ability to quickly develop working rapport with patients and clinical staff.
- Contributes to the clinic through skills that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, efficient and accurate documentation through transcribed reports. Actively participates in training and educational opportunities. Performs all functions as assigned by Supervisor.
- Assist Providers in navigating the EMR for documentation and researching information purposes.
- Able to travel routinely to Outreach Clinic sites including driving a company vehicle if needed.
- Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care. Documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in the transportation of patient specimens.
- Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and state scope of practice. Provides necessary supplies, support and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.
- May provide general support to the department, including greeting and assisting patients, visitors, physicians, and ancillary personnel.
