Scheduled hours: Days, 8 hour shifts
Job Description
Responsible for accurate and timely assignment of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCs codes as appropriate to assure compliance with all state and federal rules/regulations and ethical standards as established by AHIMA. Understands and assists with functions within the Health Information Department in compliance with all applicable state and federal laws/regulations, accreditation agency standards, and GRMC rules and regulations.
Qualifications
Required:
Computer Experience Required
High School diploma or GED required
AHIMA or AAPC coding credential required within two years of hire
Preferred
Two (2) years experience in facility coding preferred
Cerner Experience Preferred
3M encoder experience preferred
HIM degree from accredited college preferred
