What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness Floor Monitor position at GREATER AUSTIN YMCA?
A Fitness Floor Monitor builds a space where people learn, grow, and thrive. As a fitness floor monitor, you help people pursue their health and well-being, knowing that they're in a safe, clean, caring, and positive environment. You'll provide the best customer service and ensure the gymnasium is clear of hazards and safety concerns.
We are actively seeking individuals who can work from 4:45 am to 9 am every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

How You Will Make an Impact (Essential responsibilities):
- Engage with members on our fitness floor with encouragement, safety, and a smile.
- Answer member questions on equipment use.
- Protect the health, safety, and welfare of all participants by keeping the fitness area clean and safe; ensure fitness equipment is cleaned and sanitized, rack weights, vacuum, and wipe down mats.
- Submit proper maintenance requests as needed for repairs and maintenance of fitness equipment.
- Encourage members to learn and understand the benefits of exercise and weight training and provide information about other available programs offered through the YMCA.
- Promote the YMCA's character values, mission, wellness philosophy, and role in the community.
- Lead by example the Y’s mission, vision, and values with program participants, members, staff, and guests.
- Become an Ambassador of the Y’s work and culture by being the ultimate storyteller of who we are as an organization and brand.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Interest and knowledge about health and fitness, including familiarity with weight equipment and machines
