As a  Float Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering healthcare to a diverse and vulnerable patient population served by Greater Seacoast Community Health's network of Federally Qualified Health Clinics with two locations in Southeastern New Hampshire. As Float Nurse, you will care for patients at Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth, NH. Goodwin Community Health in Somersworth, NH. Being the  Float Nurse means that you will be responsible for coordinating care for our facility's Primary Care patients, in addition to being responsible for COVID-19 nursing responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor. In other words, the Primary Care Float Nurse will "float" between job responsibilities. The Primary Care aspect of the position will require the Float Nurse to partner with RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, Family Medicine doctors (MDs and DOs), Family Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses, members of a team of Medical Residents, and nonclinical staff, including social workers and case managers to coordinate in-house and extended care (including referrals) for acute patients. The COVID-19 nursing responsibilities include managing and coordinating COVID-10 clinics, triaging COVID-19 diagnosed cases, scheduling COVID-19 testing, managing vaccine administration in adherence with CDC guidelines; coordinating community COVID-19 education; coordinating COVID-19 treatment protocols in adherence with CDC guidelines, and handling administrative tasks. The primary focus of this job will be upon Primary Care nursing with roughly one day per-week dedicated to COVID-19 nursing. 

Qualifications 

  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with a current New Hampshire or compact state license.  
  • Experience in primary care and ambulatory health care setting preferred.
  • BLS certification required. 
  • Experience with electronic health records a plus.

  • Monitoring of controlled medication refills
  • Transition of care from hospitals to nurse visits
  • Managing COVID-19 clinical workflows including scheduling testing, coordination treatment protocols, triaging COVID-19 diagnosed cases, managing vaccine administration, coordinating COVID-1 clinics and coordinating community COVID-19 education

Work Locations

Goodwin Community Health, Somersworth, NH

Hours Per Week

Clinic hours are 8:00am-5:00pm, MWF; 8:00am-7:00pm, TTH. This position is still considered Full-Time though it is budgeted for 30 hours (or four days) per week. The schedule is flexible and to be discussed. Nights and Saturdays will be required on rotation in spring or summer of 2023.
