Job Purpose :

Supports GSI’s education attainment initiatives and strategies and the Education & Talent portfolio activities.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Coordinates and implements the programmatic aspects of the education and workforce portfolio including other events.
  • Translates and communicates the education and workforce strategies to GSI’s industry and education partners resulting in building and maintaining relationships.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains communication strategies for the Education & Talent portfolio, in partnership with the Marketing & Communications team.
  • Supports communications, advocacy, and public policy outreach pertaining to Education & Talent initiatives.
  • Contributes to Education & Talent programs and activities as part of the Education & Talent department.
  • Develops and maintains relationships that strengthen industry and education alignment and partnerships.
  • Provides administrative support to the Education & Talent team.
  • Contributes to organizational success by :
  • working with colleagues to discover and develop ways to retain, grow, better align and leverage GSI resources for greater impact.
  • contributing to an organizational culture of teamwork, support, engagement, and empowerment.
  • regularly evaluating GSI’s systems and processes for continuous improvement; and
  • contributing to the collection, organization, and presentation of key data in relation to GSI’s strategic plan and goals.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Experience Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in business, communications, education, public administration or related field and / or at least 3 years of related experience in developing and leading people, programs, and community collaboration.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Previous experience working in or with the PK-20 educational system is preferred.

  • Familiarity with existing and emerging education, business / industry, workforce and economic development strategies and trends.
  • Commitment to and understanding of the issues and opportunities in post-secondary attainment, the current needs and challenges faced by students, and the goal of promoting student success on a large scale to improve the economic prosperity and civic well-being of individuals and communities.
  • Knowledge of the Spokane region, community organizations, and organizations in the region related to educational attainment and student success preferred.
  • Experience supporting projects of varying complexities to achieve desired outcomes and assure required legal or fiduciary compliance and reporting.
  • Experience supporting volunteers.
  • Demonstrated ability in tracking program outcomes and ability to work independently and collaboratively with others to achieve desired results.
  • Certificates and Licenses : Valid driver's license.
  • Computer Skills : Technology savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, web platforms, CRM software, and internet.

Work Environment :

Exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels. Frequently required to travel to local, regional, and national events, meetings, or training by car and air travel.

Regularly scheduled to work 40 hours per week with some hybrid option; frequently may be required to work more than 40 hours per week to meet deadlines, finish assignments, or attend events and meetings.

Physical Demands :

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.s.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on qualifications
