The HR Assistant will provide clerical and administrative support for the human resources and training functions.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resources files and records.
- Perform tasks with quality and production in mind and follow all established procedures and process instructions, including safety procedures.
- Provide clerical/technical support to the Human Resources and Training and Development Departments to include data entry, generating various reports, filing, and correspondence.
- Perform as receptionist as needed ensuring that visitors are greeted and directed in a
professional manner and phone calls to the department are screened and processed. - Schedule and assist with new employee orientation.
- Maintain applicant information for exempt and nonexempt positions.
- Develop all files required for new employees as needed.
- Assist new hires when completing new hire paperwork.
- Assist with various employee programs to include, but not limited to, plant functions, and other employee goodwill events.
- Provide timely service to employee requests for information and problem resolution within scope of responsibility.
- Maintain company communications/postings per procedures and keep bulletin boards and TV monitors current and in good appearance.
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Assist with payroll, open enrollment events, biometric screening and training activities as necessary.
- Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities.
- Maintain staffing records including headcount spreadsheets, attendance records and new hire bonus programs in compliance with company guidelines.
- Maintain an accurate record of locker assignments and lock distribution.
- Manage the employee badge system including creating, enabling and disabling.
- Provide timely service to employee requests for information and problem resolution within scope of responsibility.
- Counsel and respond to employee concerns regarding benefit issues.
- Assist as needed in the hiring of hourly personnel to ensure proper staffing for plant operations.
- Notify supervisor of unresolved items.
- This list is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as necessary. Able to work overtime as assigned.
- Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.
- High school diploma or equivalent with over one year’s experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
- Constant access to confidential information where discretion and care are essential.
- Light physical effort. Able to lift up to 20 pounds if needed.
- Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE.
