The Human Resources Manager will direct, plan and coordinate the Human Resources function for the location including attracting, developing and retaining a safe, motivated, skilled and productive workforce in a union-free environment. Embrace, apply and counsel individuals on the Guiding Principles, Company Objectives and Expectations and ensure compliance with Company safety and human resources policies and government regulations. Ensure all safety, quality, and productivity processes and procedures are followed within areas of responsibility.

Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures.
Responsibility of Safety Department, Human Resources and Payroll.
Manage the safety, recruitment, selection, placement, orientation, training, wage and salary administration, benefits administration, employee relations, communications, unemployment compensation, payroll, plant security, and workers’ compensation and FMLA/STD functions.
Understand and apply Company policies and philosophies. Provide counsel and direction to others to ensure proper policy application. Act as the advocate of employees.
Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.
Understand and interpret federal, state and local laws and regulations concerning personnel and employment. Ensure all operations and administration is conducted in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
Ensure human resources related data, systems, and programs are maintained and administered in a timely and accurate manner.
Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars, local board meetings and community outreach.
Develop and administer the location’s training program to ensure a properly skilled workforce. Determine training plans that identify training needs and requirements. Monitor and measure training effectiveness.
Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
Maintain a positive employee relationship, maintaining open communications and trust.
Administer the performance appraisal and merit pay programs for the location. Participate in wage and salary surveys and make recommendations for changes to compensation programs as necessary.
Ensure a competent staff is maintained to meet both short and long-term objectives. Provide for staff development and growth.
Secure proper tools for each task.
Communicate suggestions and recommend solutions to problems to provide for an efficient operation.
Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.
Perform other assignments as may be requested.
Back up payroll implementation.
Work with local schools and colleges (manufacturing curriculum).

What We Need from You:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business management or equivalent.
Seven to ten years’ experience.
Functions geared toward achieving goals at dept. managerial level.
Fluent in Spanish, preferred.
