Title: Human Resources Director
Reporting to: National Chancellor and COO
Classification: full time, exempt
Location: on-site NYC office – 100% on-site
Salary range: $120,000. To $125,000.
Job summary
Ensure HR operations are efficient in areas of recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, compensation and benefit administration, compliance and employee relations. Serve as a professional head of Human Resources to the Executive Team, ministries/departments, Metropolises all clergy and lay staff.
Recruiting
Working with the hiring manager to design and guide recruiting and selection processes.
· Internal job description creation or revision.
· Requisition approval.
· Marketing design and implementation.
· Evaluate sourcing channels for future use and current effectiveness per job.
· With hiring manager, discuss and agree to selection process (e.g., screening criteria, number of interviews and interview focus) and facilitation.
· Perform initial screen of candidates and make recommendations to hiring manager.
Onboarding
Pre-onboarding – using ADP’s Work Force Now platform.
· Verbal offer acceptance
o – background check
· Offer letter created and executed.
· System access and equipment requests approved by HR.
· Compensation set-up profile and launch onboarding tasks and assign time off policies.
· Time off policy assignment
· Health Benefits education and set-up
Onboarding – collaborating with hiring managers to educate and implement process.
· Compliance.
· First week tasks.
· Create and lead orientation session – new project.
Offboarding
· Guide termination process with exiting employee and their manager.
· Create and send account access disablement request to IT.
· Perform exit interviews.
· Work with payroll to ensure offboarding is documented and meet payroll change deadlines.
Compliance, coordination, and oversight - examples include:
· Annual sexual harassment training.
· Annual Conflict-of-interest disclosure.
· EE0-1 Federal filing.
· Non-discrimination testing.
· Policy audits
Compensation administration – communication and administration of compensation adjustments.
Benefit administration
· Open enrollment coordination.
· Vendor partnerships.
· Employee servicing.
Time off and additional work hours systems oversight
· Employee/manager education.
· Policy creation (as needed) and report generation.
Provide customer service to employees with a focus on developing and increasing employee usage of tools and information available.
Employee relations
· Working with both employees and managers.
· Performance issues/correction.
· Complaint investigation.
· Policy education and management.
Special projects -lead or participate in as needed. Examples include employee wellness, engagement activities, Internship support etc.
Skills/attributes
Microsoft office – Word proficient, Excel basic, PPT.
Communication skills – verbal and written – large audience communications; able to effectively communicate or interface, up/down/across the organization.
High degree of professionalism.
Technical – ADP Workforce One.
Strong interpersonal skills – working with clergy, hierarchs and lay staff.
Solid work organization– prioritize, planning and execution.
Platform skills.
Experience
Leading onboarding and offboarding management (end to end) for 3-5 years
ADP WFN 7 years.
Time off segment – policy writing, employee/ manager education.
Benefit management 2-3 years
ER 2-3 years.
Worked for a religious organization for 5 years – required.
Staffing
This position supervises a Payroll/HR associate who assists with compliance matters.
