Quality control inspectors aid in ensuring high quality and efficiency in our daily work operations, while maintaining safety regulations and requirements. The quality control inspector is responsible for performing visual inspection of inbound purchased parts, raw material, in-process assemblies, and product conformity at predetermined inspection areas throughout the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately inspects and documents results of visual testing.
- Identifies, communicates, and records defects
- Verifies repairs and rework have been completed and meet our quality standards
- Reviews in-process documentation for accuracy and completion
- Monitors area of responsibility for parts identification, measuring and test gauge control, and correct lot information for in-process assemblies
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and certification to perform NDT visual inspection
- Ability to keep accurate records in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to accurately demonstrate visual inspection
- Ability to follow written procedures
- Works under moderate supervision
Education and Experience
- Typically requires 1-3 years of railcar manufacturing experience
- May be entry level if some experience in quality assurance, welding, or paint
