What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Dietary Manager position at Greencroft Communities?
Job Description:
To assist the Dietitian in planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
Duties include:
- Manage, organize and direct all staff in areas of responsibility, maintaining acceptable standards of quality: manage on-the-job training for staff, and evaluate, mentor, and discipline staff as needed.
- Do routine staff evaluations on a timely basis, maintain harmonious working relationships among staff members, conduct routine meetings with staff to discuss issues, and problem solve with staff.
- Plan and/or revise menus according to the principles of diet therapy and in cooperation with the recommendations made by the Dietitian; standardize recipes and production. Communicate menu and diet changes to Food Service staff and any other appropriate individuals.
- Responsible for the financial integrity and operation of the Food Service Department. Monitor the effectiveness of the department against the budget and take corrective action when significant deviations occur.
- Check food quality and assure that appropriate amounts are sent out to the different locations. Work in close relationship with other managers to assure that food needs are met for the pantries. Utilize leftovers to minimize waste. Keep recipes current and accurate.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Registered as a Food Service director in the state of Indiana required.
- Graduate of an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the American Dietetic Association required.
- Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc. required.
- Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred.
Schedule:
- Weekdays
- Must be able to work weekends.
