Job description
A fully-integrated Atlanta-based multifamily real estate investment and property management company is now looking for a Finance Intern for its Atlanta - Buckhead office. Ideal candidates should be seniors, recent graduates in the major of real estate, finance, accounting, statistics or related. Job Responsibilities:
- Apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial information
- Consolidate properties' operational and financial data from the system into Excel, prepare weekly and monthly reports, and follow up with property managers to complete tasks
- Assist the accountants in AR, AP, accounting, budget development and analysis, operational analysis, and bonus plan implementation.
- Enter journal entries, and reconcile accounts
- Assist the Senior Accountant in creating presentation slides for meetings and forums
- Participate in property acquisition / disposition due diligence
- Other finance / operation related duties upon assignment
Requirements:
- Strong Excel skills
- A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the application and usage of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to prepare and explain financial data to board members, senior managers, staff, and internal and external auditors.
- Interest in real estate industry
- Experience with Yardi system is preferred.
