We are looking for an experienced Food Editor who loves to research and write recipes and food stories. This position works with our highly talented creative test kitchen and editorial teams in producing content for client and in-house projects. This position requires a desire to create content with a variety of editorial goals such as, healthy, quick-cook, or pin-worthy for today’s busy and diverse cook.

Job Responsibilities:
- Edit food stories and recipes throughout their development for clarity, consistency, and style
- Coordinate, review, and validate final recipe nutritional analyses
- Research food and lifestyle trends of interest to the assigned project’s audience; and develop recipe and food concepts to be approved by project leads and client before production; maintain supporting files and resources
- Research and outline culinary stories, sidebars, recipe concepts, etc.
- Write and edit Seasons content including but not limited to the areas of cooking and general culinary and lifestyle topics
- Edit and adapt existing culinary information and recipes to the assigned project/publication
- Attend taste panels and provide constructive feedback in order to reach client expectations
- Verify facts, dates, and statistics using approved reference sources
- Research, pitch, develop, and test recipes as assigned in accordance with client’s brand guidelines and culinary philosophy
- Collaborate with the digital team to align on major brand initiatives and to support cross-platform opportunities
- Work in a collaborative manner to meet client deadlines
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree - English, Journalism, Food Sciences, Culinary Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum: 3 years’ editorial experience in the publishing industry
- Broad cooking experience and knowledge
- A solid understanding of English grammar and the Chicago style manual
- Understanding of edit marks
- Ability to maintain a consistent writing style and proofread articles for grammatical errors, voice/tone and substance in adherence with the Editorial Outline, project style guide and standard style guides
- Experience researching and sourcing editorial content; skilled at using reference resources
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Highly motivated with ability to work in a collaborative manner to meet client deadlines
- Ability to maintain a positive can-do attitude
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to purchase and carry groceries
