What are the responsibilities and job description for the VDC Technician position at Greystar?
JOB DESCRIPTION
• Responsible for drafting, designing, and interpreting engineering drawings in Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM software.
• Develop and model site logistics and construction sequencing animations with factory and construction teams.
• Facilitates requests from the VDC Team, Design Engineer, and the Director of Factory Operations for the continuous improvement of our manufacturing process.
• Maintains BIM Data for the Factory and Individual Projects across the project lifecycle including design, manufacturing, construction, operations, and facilities management.
• Creates Revit Families in accordance with vendor specifications.
• Maintains Revit Libraries as suppliers and specifications change.
• Develops and maintains the latest production drawings in accordance with factory standards and job specific A/E design packages, leads stud roller and CNC inputs (e.g., Tekla or Structsoft or 3D Prints), adapts improvements in the manufacturing processes and assures product and process quality.
• Actively identify potential operational issues and help design solutions that enhance productivity.
• Participates in QA/QC process for factory operations.
• Designs diagrams, process maps, and layouts to illustrate best practices and workflows.
• Participates in planning meetings, reviews, and provides input into the project’s scope of work and specifications, and the timeline to ensure an on-time and on-budget project completion.
• Creates "Visual Operating Procedures" using digital and photographic images.
• Create field installation and factory detail build details for local inspectors and installation crews.
• Model Existing Conditions and Work with Point Cloud Data.
• Develop Surveying Point Files for the use on active and new sites.
The base compensation rate will vary based on education, experience, skills, and geographic location, as applicable.
