The Job: The Sr. Director, Marketing is responsible for defining, developing, and implementing the brand strategy. The primary objectives for this role are to support the Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer to drive unaided brand awareness, audience engagement, and revenue.

The ideal candidate has experience in and is excited about the chance to build and grow an evolving brand. This individual is a natural collaborator and exceptional communicator who strives to work towards common goals with a variety of teams. This individual is willing and able to roll up their sleeves and bring fresh ideas to our purpose-forward work.

Responsibilities

Apply consumer insights and market intelligence to the process of developing approaches to linking a brand identity to the museum and its offerings.

Build an Integrated Marketing capability that ensures that the entire marketing department (and wider organization) are aligned on objectives and timelines around museum projects (i.e., ticket on-sale, exhibition announcements, major events, etc.).

Lead our content strategy, ensuring that we are publishing high quality, on-brand, platform specific and impactful creative across our digital and social channels.

Oversee our social media efforts including branded content, visitor engagement, and driving user-generated content with a focus on increasing impressions and engagements across channels.

Oversee all paid media strategy, buying, and placement.

Partner with cross-functional teams to lead brand planning efforts and develop brand personality.

Drives brand training and governance to ensure the organization is properly implementing the brand strategy.

Direct development of programs that establish and nurture a strong marketing community across marketing disciplines and holding reviews with senior leaders and stakeholders.

Report on initiatives results, ensuring the team and department learn from what worked, what did not, and evolving our efforts as we move towards the future.

Effectively lead, mentor, and develop team members, keeping them motivated, engaged, and focused on appropriate priorities.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ten (10) plus years of related experience in an agency or corporate environment.

Bachelor's degree is a plus.

Results-oriented with an exceptional track record of developing profitable engagement marketing programs.

Proven record of achieving results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.

Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop high-performing and highly engaged teams.

Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently while also able to build strong internal relationships and build consensus on critical initiatives.

Demonstrates excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and management skills to interact with staff, colleagues, senior leadership, media and cross-functional teams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable leveraging large amounts of data to drive decisions and a passion for continuous testing and optimization.

Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing time and resources based on business impact.

Passion for delighting and advocating for customers and have intimate understanding of how and when to influence customer behavior.

Language

Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence .

Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.

Mathematical

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, ROI, etc.

Reasoning

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Physical

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.

The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

The employee must occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
