Video Producer & Editor

Position Overview:

Grokker is looking for a passionate and experienced Videographer/Producer/Editor to join our video production team. We are looking for an individual who can wear many hats and jump into any stage of production at a moment’s notice. The ideal candidate excels at balancing polished execution with strategic thinking to drive higher engagement through content. This role will work closely with the Head of Operations and Head of Content Production to produce engaging, beautiful, and educational wellbeing content.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Video Production (~25%)

  • Collaborate with Content team to analyze metrics, strategize content improvements, and develop wellbeing programs to drive higher user engagement
  • Collaborate on development and scripting of new programs
  • Act as Producer, Videographer, and (as needed) Director on video productions, including:
  • Sourcing and managing locations, equipment, and crew
  • Setting up and operating video, audio, and lighting equipment to meet creative vision
  • Coordinating with and directing expert
  • Media management, meals, and other on-set logistics as needed
  • Produce, film, and direct in-house marketing videos to meet creative vision and marketing needs

Post-Production (~45%)

  • Edit all video and audio for programs to meet creative vision and quality standards
  • Edit marketing videos to create compelling and polished marketing collateral
  • Create and edit motion graphics to effectively communicate concepts on-screen
  • Edit photographs for program promotion and marketing use
  • Follow best practices in project and media management, including safely backing up media and documenting file organization
  • Ready content for publishing, including creating program and video pages, writing copy, processing images, and captioning/subtitling.

Project Management (~30%)

  • Create XML metadata to meet SVOD partner specifications & deliver monthly video packages via FTP
  • Assist in project management, processing, and syncing of foreign language audio
  • Assist in project management and processing of short-form video and non-video content
  • Work with team members to create realistic project timelines and publishing deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with senior management and other departments about upcoming programs, marketing video projects, and other content team projects
  • Coordinate and communicate professionally and effectively with experts and other external stakeholders

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • 5 years industry experience across multiple production disciplines (producing, directing, editing)
  • Detailed-oriented and highly organized with proven ability to independently manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Thorough understanding of video production and filming techniques and equipment (DSLR video shooting, composition, lighting, multi-cam setups, audio, and media management)
  • Experience with GH5 or similar DSLR cameras
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suite of production software, especially Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Photoshop. Audition & Illustrator a bonus.
  • Excellent storytelling sensibility balancing creativity, clear communication, and connection to business objectives
  • Ability to give and receive constructive creative direction and feedback
  • Creative thinker and problem-solver to bring new ideas and identify opportunities for improvement in production processes
  • Ready to own and take pride in the quality of their work
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours. Our office is located in San Jose, but have shoots throughout the Bay Area, occasionally on weekends and occasionally requiring travel

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
