The Groton-Dunstable Regional School District is in search of a Long Term Substitute BCBA to cover a parental leave from August 26, 2024 through December 20, 2024.
Description:
•The Board Certified Behavior Analyst works under the direction of the Director of Pupil Personnel Services in collaboration with the other members of the administrative team. This person works closely with the assistant superintendent, principals, special educators and other teachers in developing, enriching, and modifying special education programs to meet emerging student needs.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
•Supervise, train, lead, and support, the special education staff, consultants, instructors and other team members to ensure programs meet students’ individual needs.
•Proactively identify strengths and areas of need of special education programming throughout the district (e.g., training needs, monitoring caseloads, communication) and recommend/facilitate resolution as needed.
•Provide supervision to ABA programs. These responsibilities will include program development, data collection and analysis, summarization of data, staff training, observation, and direct consultation.
•Analyze and evaluate concerns regarding identified students’ academic needs and behaviors through application of evidence-based procedures; review of psychological test results; communication with teachers, students, parents and outside agencies; review of medical histories; and class observations to determine emotional, academic, social and intellectual factors relevant to students’ behaviors.
•Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and other evaluations as necessary. Analyze/interpret the results of the data and recommend appropriate research-based interventions.
•Prepare reports outlining diagnostic evaluations and recommend remedial measures such as curricular adjustment, special learning materials, environmental improvements, class placements, and applied behavior analysis programs.
•Oversee and offer guidance on the development of behavior plans or curricular modifications to address the individual needs of students.
•Provide crisis intervention assistance to students, staff and parents when needed.
•Assist in the training and development of case books.
•Represent the district at Team meetings and conferences when appropriate.
•Ensure collaboration, flexibility, and active communication with staff, families, and the administrative team to model and promote a positive culture throughout school district.
•All other work as assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel Services.
Qualifications:
•Board Certified Behavior Analyst
•Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, Ph.D. preferred
•Experience as a special education teacher
•Familiarity with relevant laws and DESE regulations regarding special education
•Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
