Manager of Vendor Relations
We are seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized candidate to oversee indirect purchases, develop new contracts, and assist with FP&A tasks related to Procurement. In this position, you will play a key role in procuring high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for our organization. You will establish procurement procedures, maintain an updated list of current and potential suppliers, be responsible for approving purchases, manage, track, and report spend for strategic initiatives, present ROI, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for indirect purchases
- Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers
- Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other important data
- Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
- Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
- Negotiate favorable payment terms, rebates, discounts, etc.
- Implement and enforce purchasing policies for IT, big box stores, travel and entertainment
- Maintain DOA policies
- Review financial implications of lease agreements (capital & operating leases)
- Build ROI models for strategic initiatives
- Maintain and update a list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development
- Review procurement impact to cashflow
- Work with team members and Sr. Director of FP&A to complete duties as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain or equivalent
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement related position
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
- Goal-oriented, organized team player
Desired Skills
- Current experience establishing procurement systems in construction industry
- Current experience writing and enforcing procurement policies
