Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for the Production team’s performance in meeting client requirements, productivity goals and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Primary Tasks:
- Managing Production team activity and may include Training activity
- Supervising production filling and down packing team
- Advise and Assist Planning and scheduling for production thruough coordination with Production Scheduler
- Managing decisions on Production labor and Labor scheduling
- Managing process and workflow documentation related to Filling/ packaging, updates, and communication
- Ensuring a safe work environment in production area
- Identifying issues and managing issue resolution
- Managing the production team’s productivity performance
- Collecting data for labor inputs and productivity output measurements
- Reviewing and validating labor and productivity data
- Acting based on labor inputs and productivity performance
- Managing the production team’s quality performance to goals
- Maintaining relevant and effective quality audits
- Collecting data for quality measurement
- Reviewing and validating quality measurement data
- Acting based on quality performance
- Managing workforce issues
- Working with corporate human resources on employee hiring, termination and performance issues
- Assisting production supervisors in managing employee issues
Secondary Tasks:
- Maintaining a safe, clean and orderly work area
- Finding and supporting opportunities for improved performance, cost-savings and efficiency
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills:
- Flexibility in daily hours worked based on workloads
- Ability to travel (infrequently)
- On-call accessibility
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Experience:
- Minimum five years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
