STATEMENT OF THE JOB
The Navigator of CIE will oversee and guide a team of CIE Navigators who facilitate communication and resource-sharing among various community organizations, agencies, and stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Complete client intakes to identify the individual’s needs, identify resources to meet those needs, make close loop referrals to identified resources through the CIE database
- Utilize a comprehensive database of community resources and services to connect clients with appropriate support systems tailored to their unique needs and circumstances.
- Advocates for the inquirer, when necessary, to assist in contacting and utilizing resources.
- Conducts follow-up to ensure that the inquirer’s needs have been met
- Uses crisis management techniques in accordance with agency procedures
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records and documentation in compliance with relevant regulations and policies
- Gain an understanding of how to navigate the full extent of services and processes that the CIE system can provide, which will be learned through in-house and hands-on training
- Manage relationships with partner organizations and develop systems to ensure coordination and communication between CIE and community partners’ staff
- Attends staff, team and department meetings and training as assigned
- Attends on and off-site education training relative to job duties?as assigned
- Provides outreach services in community settings in the development and distribution of informational materials to increase youth, family, and community awareness of Gryphon Place services?
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in a health or human services, community engagement, customer account management, or public relations work-related environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience; higher education degree preferred in relevant field preferred
- 1 year experience in providing phone and/or direct social services assistance to consumers.
- 1 year experience with database and/or software systems.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) - Preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Knowledge of community resources, and relevant public programs and benefits.
- Providing accurate and complete data entry on computer database systems while speaking to consumers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a nuanced understanding of social determinants of health and other community factors impacting well-being.
- Preferred license: Valid Michigan Motor Vehicle Operator’s license
Working Conditions:
- This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to attend community events and meetings in community and/or surrounding areas.
