- Provide general support and assistance to the existing and new data transformation projects
- Assist in the UAT process by performing the testing on the initial test Accounting entry results created by the automated IT process
- Day-to-day responsibilities include developing data definitions, measurements, and exception handling
- Responsible for escalating complex or critical issues to the next level of authority
- Show awareness of the linkage of Data Strategy to the overall finance strategy
- Demonstrates the ability to affect change within their department and with their direct and indirect stakeholders, Reports to the Finance Data Steward
- Works with our technology partners to implement the technology-related process to support the data governance program
- Create and maintain business metadata definitions, domain values, business rules, etc.
- Execute testing related to the buildout of our reporting warehouse, liaison between IT and Reinsurance Accounting to develop automated reporting for analysis that supports internal management reporting and external regulatory reporting
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 1-3 years of specialized experience as a data practitioner in Insurance or Financial Services
- Experience in Insurance Accounting and/or Operations, with a foundational understanding of the upstream processes and impacts on downstream accounting and reporting
- Organized, details, and able to multi-task
- Ability to work efficiently in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Strong communication (oral and written)
- Proven ability to successfully handle competing priorities and handle multiple deliverables
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (excel, word, PowerPoint, access, power query) and general ledger reporting and other database tools like Tableau, Business Objects, and DBeaver
