What You'll Do:
- As a Test Engineer III, you will lead and oversee the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test strategies and procedures to ensure the quality and reliability of products or systems.
- Leveraging your extensive experience, you will provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior test engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
Job Functions:
- The Test Engineer will lead the development and implementation of test strategies, test plans, and test cases for functional, performance, and regression testing of software applications, embedded systems, or hardware components.
- Design and develop automated test scripts, frameworks, and tools using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C ) and test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Robot Framework) to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, systems engineers, and product managers, to define test objectives, requirements, and acceptance criteria, and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior test engineers, guiding them in test planning, test case design, test automation, and execution, and fostering a culture of quality and excellence within the team.
- Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and test strategy reviews to provide feedback and input on testability, quality, and reliability considerations throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Analyze test results, metrics, and defect data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations for process enhancements, tool improvements, and test automation opportunities.
- The Test Engineer will manage and maintain test environments, test tools, and test data repositories, ensuring they are up-to-date, reliable, and accessible to support testing activities and facilitate collaboration across teams.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software testing, test automation, and quality assurance, and share knowledge and insights with the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- 6-9 years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related roles, with a focus on designing and implementing test strategies, test automation, and leading testing efforts for complex software applications or systems.
- Expertise in software testing methodologies, techniques, and tools, including test planning, test case design, test automation, and defect tracking.
- Proven experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Robot Framework) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, C ), and a track record of developing robust and scalable test automation solutions.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams, coach and develop junior engineers, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and ideas to diverse audiences, and work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement, with the ability to analyze complex systems, identify root causes of issues, and propose effective solutions.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment, with knowledge of Agile principles and practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Certification in software testing (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester, CSTE).
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including infrastructure as code (IaC) and automated deployment techniques.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Previous experience testing embedded systems, IoT devices, or hardware components.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for software and systems testing (e.g., FDA, ISO, IEC).
