What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery driver warehouse position at Guitar Center Stores, Inc.?
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
The primary purpose of this job is to perform general warehouse and delivery duties while ensuring timely receipt of product.
Delivery route is expected to be run two days per week. The remaining time will be cleaning and grading band and orchestra instruments as well as processing their returns.
Essential Functions (not all-inclusive) :
- Locate and transfer product for sales orders that generate daily; match physical product with description on sales order
- Prepare product for shipping utilizing company standards
- Drive a company provided vehicle between locations to deliver company owned product while following all traffic regulations
- Load and unload vehicle, sometimes taking or removing items from rolling cart
- Move product to a different location in a facility or to help pack carts to load
- Responsible for detailing and cleaning instruments in a timely manner based on established production standards
- Responsible for turning in accurate production reports on a daily basis
- Responsible for reporting quality control rejects on a daily basis
- Responsible for performing general warehouse and distribution tasks as needed when not operating in a detailer capacity
- Process and sort serialized product
- Perform additional warehouse duties as assigned

To join our band, you'll need the following experience :
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- 6 months of warehouse experience (preferred)
- 1 year delivery driving experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with band / orchestra instruments (preferred)
- Basic understanding of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to understand warehouse locations and locate product
- Attention to detail is a must
- Must be able to quickly identify errors and retain the knowledge of how to correct them
- Ability to thrive under deadline based assignments
- Ability to stand up for long periods of time
- Must be able to walk the equivalent of about 2 miles during the course of the work day
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions for long periods of time
- Must be able to safely climb and work on ladders
