What are the responsibilities and job description for the Development Program Manager position at Gulfshore Opera?
Position Summary: The Development Program Manager will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects and donors capable of making gifts of $5,000 and above. Oversees the donor database, assures that it is up to date and identifies individuals with the potential for increased giving. The Development Program Manager will assist in planning cultivation events for the organization. Should have personal interest in opera and understanding and appreciation of the ideals and goals of Gulfshore Opera. The Development Program Manager will work with the small core team at GO to assure that the overall development
goals are met on a yearly basis.
Must have Arts Administration experience and previous development experience- both are required.

Compensation:
Base Salary: $50,000
Average 40 hrs./week; Very flexible work schedule with 4 weeks of vacation, off-season/TBD
Includes bonus incentives with opportunity for advancement
Primary Responsibilities:
- Thorough review of donors history and appropriate research, identifies donors with increased capability to give.
In conjunction with appropriate members of the team outlines cultivation steps to increase their individual giving.
- Enhancement and maintenance of the donor data base, assuring that all relevant notes are entered in donor files.
- Write and maintain grant proposals including private and public foundations
- Manage annual donor solicitation campaigns.
- Assure that all appropriate development forms to document donations are current.
- As an important member of the Arts Administration team, will collaborate with core team.
- Attend GO performances and social events throughout the production season with a focus on data gathering.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; polished presentation skills.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in nonprofit arts management..
- 2 years of direct solicitation experience with demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding organizational
goals.
- Experience with donor data bases, E-tapestry preferred.
- Must have Arts Administration experience.
- Conversant knowledge of Opera preferred.
