Data Analyst

The Data Analyst will support Operations, Publisher Development and Finance teams by analyzing large data sets to determine insights and recommendations to become more efficient. The role does this by working with stakeholders to identify and automate bottlenecks, recommend steps based on data analysis and follow up on the impact of any change made to determine improvements. The Data Analyst is also responsible for providing access to data through self-serving dashboards and reports and will act as a subject matter expert on all of GumGum’s advertising data.

The Data Analyst reports directly to the Manager, Business Intelligence and operates from within the US Operations Team.

Responsibilities

• Dashboarding focussed on Recommendations and Actions:
  • Build, develop and maintain self-serving dashboards for teams within operations as well as publisher development and finance
  • Track and improve publisher yield, network growth, ad/platform performance in aggregate by identifying trends and uncovering patterns
• Point of contact for any internal team optimization Initiatives: 
  • Work with the Business Intelligence Manager to Identify and implement projects to solve for pain points or efficiency losses within internal teams. Some examples are, but not limited to: capacity planning and forecasting, revenue prediction, pricing analysis, and team output estimation
• Experimentation and AB Testing 
  • Assist teams with designing and implementing experiments and AB tests as well as analyzing the impact of decisions on the business and measuring benefits in the short and long term
• Communication and Delivery of findings
  • This role is expected to communicate effectively and efficiently to all the  stakeholders at all levels including C-level executives and sales leaders
• Network profitability analysis
  • Provide insights and data to find trends and help maintain and balance net revenue and margin for GumGum and it’s publishers

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Business Intelligence, Statistics or any other related field mandatory. Master’s in Business Intelligence, Statistics or any other related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of data analysis experience including data cleaning, sourcing, analyzing, and presenting data & findings
• Experience working in complex matrix organizations using data and reports and presenting to leaders to drive insights and influence decisions
• Experience in digital display/video advertising experience would be a big advantage, but not required
• Expert proficiency in SQL and knowledge of data warehousing (Redshift/Snowflake)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables and vlookups)
• Experience in Python or R required. Specifically, in numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, dplyr, carat, and matplotlib libraries
• Experience with regression analysis, A/B testing, hypothesis testing required
• Experience with data visualization tools like Looker, Tableau etc. required
