What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Agent Hiring Event position at Gurney's Resorts - Montauk, New York?
The Front Desk Agent is to provide welcoming and efficient service to our guests at the Front Desk creating an incredible first impression as the face of this beautiful luxury property. While checking in, registering and assigning rooms, and checking guests out on their departure, they will fulfill all of their tasks to the highest of the Gurney's Resorts brand standard.
Your Responsibilities:
- Greet guests and complete the registration process to include, but not limited to, inputting and retrieving information from the computer, confirmation of guest information and room rate, selection of rooms, coding electronic keys, promoting marketing programs, providing a welcome packet and ensuring guest knows location of room and/or has a bell person accompany him/her
- Assist guests with check-out including, but not limited to, ensuring rooms and services are correctly accounted, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, accepting and recording various forms of payment, converting foreign currency, making change and processing gift certificates and cards
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of hotel information including, but not limited to, room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area and other general product knowledge and answer guest questions and inquiries
- Use up-selling techniques to promote hotel services and facilities and to maximize room occupancy
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests and resolve issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner
- Field guest complaints, conduct research and resolve and negotiate solutions for guest satisfaction
- Receive, input, retrieve and relay messages to guests
The Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum three (3) years’ work-related experience
- High School Diploma, or equivalent level of education, required (Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, speak and interpret documents in clear English. Ability to communicate in secondary language is a plus.
- Computer friendly with a strong proficiency with MS Office Programs.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the area in a timely basis.
- Must be able to multi-task and manage in high volume, and high stress environments. Posses a “roll up your sleeves” attitude
- Must have manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and stretch. Can frequently lift up to 30 pounds, as well as work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule. (Including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
- You are a detail-oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and love luxury & lifestyle brands
- Ability to work and remain calm and professional under potentially stressful situations to ensure guest satisfaction
