GVB is widely regarded as a best-in-class operator with a leading position in the hemp-derived active ingredients market, with around 15% market share and growing. GVB is also a white-label contract manufacturer of tinctures, gel capsules, gummies, mints, tablets, topical, and vape offerings.


Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee our acquisition of goods and services, specifically in the CBD and minor cannabinoid markets. The successful candidate will understand supply chain procedures and have a keen business sense for discovering and managing supply vendors. They will be tasked with identifying cost-effective deals and suppliers to minimize procurement expenses, allowing the company to invest in its growth and people. This position reports to our Prineville, Oregon facility.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize the supply chain and reduce costs.

  • Identify and source new suppliers and vendors, managing relationships with existing ones.

  • Conduct market research to identify pricing trends and stay informed about the latest developments in the CBD and minor cannabinoid industry.

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors and suppliers.

  • Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for services and products.

  • Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options.

  • Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality, adhering to GVB Biopharma's standards.

  • Create and manage budgets for procurement activities.

  • Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies.

  • Work closely with the legal team to ensure contracts are favorable and comply with all laws and regulations.


  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the CBD and minor cannabinoid industry.

  • Ideally some knowledge of the CBD and minor cannabinoid market, including suppliers, cost structures, and market dynamics.

  • Proven history of successful supplier management and negotiation.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with financials and cost modeling.

  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management software.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and networking skills.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and procurement software.
