What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst IT Systems position at GVTC?

Summary:

Primary responsibility is to provide support to all PC users and Engineering team by ensuring functionality of all end-user devices and software, as well as all server, LAN, SAN and PBX equipment. Configures all corporate computing devices to written specifications and tests applications and connectivity to internal systems. Also supports network connectivity of LAN switches, cabling, and wireless access points.

Additionally, assists in server configuration and maintenance. Maintains a current knowledge of technological changes and their impacts on the workplace. Aide the IT Systems Engineer by performing duties as needed in areas of Server builds and maintenance, SCCM updates and configurations, trouble shoot LAN/WAN/SAN/PBX/ACD/UC issues and resolve. Monitor server farm health with available tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

· Configuration of all LAN/WAN PCs including basic testing to ensure functionality

· End-user support of PC hardware/software

· Answer and respond to helpdesk calls and support emails in a timely manner

· Provide computer orientation to new company staff

· Assist in server hardware builds and operating system configuration

· Maintain and support USB security system

· Maintain and support Antivirus server and end-user deployment of antivirus software

· Purchase new hardware/software at LAN Administrator’s discretion

· Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that works well with clients, customers, co-workers and supervisors

· Support PBX system call routing applications, user profiles, voicemail and automated attendant recordings

· Perform routine maintenance and testing on network infrastructure equipment such as switches and cabling, as assigned by the LAN Administrator

· Installation of LAN cabling and modular jacks

· Cleans and organizes IT computer room and lab areas

· Assist in data backup procedures, ensure daily and weekly backups are completed.

· Assist Compliance Engineer in polling of Telco switches

· Support of all cellular phone/PDA devices

· Support of audio/visual equipment for training and conferencing

· Support of security access system user profiles, security groups and fob administration

· Relocation of LAN PC’s

· Maintain accurate detailed inventory of all PCs, cellular devices and security fobs utilizing the inventory tool in HEAT

· Assist vendors/guests with internet connectivity

· PBX/ACD management

· Support Board of Directors with remote connectivity and basic PC troubleshooting

· Write clear, concise, stepwise procedures for installation and configuration of PC hardware/software and add to continuity binder on share drive and binder.

· Establishes and maintains appropriate working relationships with colleagues and users and follows company policies and procedures governing IT efforts

· Become familiar with and follow all general company policies as well as any policies or procedures that are specific to the IT department

· Sound expense control and expense management

· Ensure customer satisfaction by providing quality service, identifying customer needs and assisting

· In addition to daily activities, PC Analysts are also expected to be involved in an on-call rotation to provide essential support outside of their regular work schedule

· Responsible for updating the company repository with URLs/IP addresses, privileged log-ons and passwords that are necessary for conducting the everyday business of the company

· Responsible for populating and maintaining up-to-date company repository of system, network, and application documentation necessary for effective sharing of knowledge to ensure business continuity should essential personnel become unavailable

· Create and maintain knowledge base article in HEAT for end user self-resolution of issues.

· Follow IT Change Management best practices and procedures

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong problem-solving, analytical, and communications skills and must be able to perform complex and technical tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Individual must be dependable and able to work occasionally after-hours to perform upgrades and/or system maintenance. Individual must also be extremely confidential in dealing with user credentials and other sensitive data.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; some college preferred. Experience and/or certifications in Microsoft Office 365 cloud technologies preferred. Customer service experience in a call center setting preferred.

Required: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or equivalent technical certifications

Preferred: Microsoft MCSE or equivalent technical certifications

Language Ability: Ability to read, write and comprehend detailed instructions and short correspondence. Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills.

Reasoning Ability: Advanced problem solving using sound judgment. Technically proficient. Detail oriented. Ability to prioritize tasks and execute effectively. 3

Technical skills:

· Advanced troubleshooting and configuring of PC hardware

· Advanced understanding of a networked computing environment to include Servers, PCs, printers, switches and other related network devices

· Basic understanding of wireless networks and PoE devices

· Advanced understanding of TCP/IP network protocol

· Thorough knowledge of current Microsoft Windows desktop OS

· Proficient with core Microsoft Office applications, and corporate applications utilizing MS Server technologies.

· Sound understanding and awareness of network and device security

· Basic understanding of PBX systems

· Basic understanding of virtualization technologies,

  • Hyper-V
  • VMWare

· Ability to learn and support new systems and applications

While performing the duties of this job, you must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

This position requires dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices. PC Technicians must be able to safely carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Good hand-eye coordination and ability to see small objects up close and in color is necessary. The ability to periodically climb up and down a 4-8 foot ladder is necessary. Working in close or confined spaces is occasionally required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.16 - $30.24 per hour
