Georgia World Congress Center is currently recruiting a HR Generalist for its Atlanta campus who will serve as an ambassador and trusted-advisor within Georgia World Congress Center Authority Human Resources. The HR Generalist will partner with HR leadership to evaluate and execute comprehensive employment strategies with emphasis on employee benefits. The HR Generalist will report to the Director of Human Resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources to administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health insurance, flexible spending accounts, dental insurance, vision insurance, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(K), and wellness benefits.
- Partner with the Director of Human Resources on employee relations intake.
- Correspond with benefit provider in a timely manner to ensure the accuracy of eligibility, entries and enrollment information. Communicate updates with carriers and process life status changes.
- Assist employees with benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Perform routine checks and changes to benefits entries.
- Reconcile benefits statements.
- Assist with annual open enrollment process. Distribute benefits enrollment materials based on eligibility.
- Respond to benefits inquiries from employees and managers on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, and status changes through the HRIS, email, and other communication tools.
- Process and administer disability paperwork including but not limited to medical, person, and FMLA documentation.
- Administer post-accident drug tests.
- Assist with processing of employment verifications and offboarding.
- Support performance review process serve as resource for setting and evaluating goals.
- Partner with Director of Talent Development and Communications to promote and publicize healthy lifestyles for live event professionals.
- Partner with business resource to coordinate, plan and facilitate health and fitness initiatives for employees. Organize logistics for wellness seminars and sessions.
- Compile and communicate statistical summaries of employee engagement in wellness initiatives.
- Perform customer service functions by answering general inquiries; respond to routine requests for information about employment. other questions.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and relentless follow-up
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross- functional teams to either influence or support a project or initiative
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
- Organizational and interpersonal skills with a strategic logical approach
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience as a human resources professional
- A minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in influencing management
- Experience partnering with insurance carriers and brokers preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business, human resources, management or related fields preferred.
- Experience in hospitality or events SHRM or PHR certification a plus
