What are the responsibilities and job description for the NYC Summer Intern - Rotational Program position at GWI?
This position will be hybrid with three days a week in our Flatiron office.
We’re looking for a summer intern to join us here at GWI. Not just any summer intern though. Someone ambitious and genuine, who works best in the midst of a collaborative and forward-thinking team. That’s because as a GWIer you’ll be immersed in the fast-moving world of data tech. We think big to make an impact, we’re not afraid to ask why, and we always show respect. Those values are what got us where we are today, and they’re a big part of what we’re looking for in you.
About the job
In this 8-week program (June 6th - July 25th), you will be working across 5 departments - Research, Revenue, Customer Success, Marketing and HR - supporting and learning all about GWI’s core business functions and values. You will gain exposure to some of the largest brands across industries, including Google, Spotify, Microsoft and Snapchat, among others. You will learn about key business needs and develop cross-departmental skills that employees use on a day-to-day basis such as presentation skills, problem-solving and multi-tasking. You will also be exposed to leadership through Q&As, as well as go through professional development workshops to hone in on different skills. Over the course of this process, you will work to put together a project that you will then present at the end of the program to showcase what you’ve learned throughout your experience with GWI.
What you’ll be doing
- Deep dive into GWI’s survey platform to gain an understanding of what GWI offers and how some of the largest organisations in the world use our insights to guide their strategies.
- Have regular sessions with different teams to learn about each department’s role in the business, as well as get exposure to leadership in each space.
- Work with a different team each week. You’ll shadow team members, as well as work on team-specific tasks and projects that will all be used to help achieve business goals.
- Refine your professional development skills through workshops focusing on key skills such as public speaking, problem-solving and decision-making among other key business areas.
- Be exposed to business software that GWI uses on a day-to-day basis, such as SalesForce.
- Put together a project throughout the course of the internship that will then be presented at the end of the summer to showcase what you’ve learned throughout your experience.

Who we are
GWI was founded with the knowledge that understanding your audience is really important for business. When you know who you’re speaking to and why, you can create content and campaigns that stand out to the people that matter.
Through our global online survey, we gather data on the behaviour and perceptions of consumers across the world. This provides businesses with deep, actionable insights on their audience, revealed from data they trust.
It’s been going well, too. Since launching in 2009, we’ve become one of the UK’s fastest growing target audience companies. We’re not about to stop growing any time soon. As a business, we’re on a mission to re-engineer data-driven marketing, and we’re on the lookout for talented people to join us.
Diversity & Inclusion
Imagine if our data came from just one kind of person. We’d get a very nuanced view of the world. And we definitely wouldn’t have got off the ground as a business.
We’re so lucky to live in a society where differences are celebrated – so we’d expect nothing else from our teams. In fact, the GWI office is as diverse as our global data, it’s really important to us that it stays that way. That means whatever your race, religion, sexual orientation or gender, this is a place to feel at home, express yourself freely and make your mark.
