HR Generalist

Purpose:
The HR Generalist is responsible for performing a variety of human resources related duties throughout the employee lifecycle under the direction of the Human Resources Director. This position is primarily responsible for the recruiting program to include phone screens scheduling interviews; background screening, maintaining accurate records; onboarding and processing team member changes in the ADP HRIS system; maintaining employee files and responding to employee inquiries. As well, the HR Generalist will provide backup to the other members of the HR team as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares and facilitates hiring actions including review of vacant positions, anticipated staffing needs, posting openings at appropriate job board sites, reviewing candidate qualifications, performing limited phone screening, scheduling interviews, preparing offer letters, checking references and background checks, communicating with candidates or new hires, and ensuring entry of new hire information into ADP HRIS system.
Enters and maintains employee information in HRIS and/or other human resources systems such as external benefit and retirement systems.
Responds to employee inquiries in a timely manner regarding recruiting and onboarding.
Maintains compliance and extra detailed organizational activities when keeping all files updated (i.e. creation, updates and archiving), manages unemployment claims, and conducts regular audits of personnel files and I-9’s.
Completes OSHA 300 logs, Worksite logs, E-Verify, and other reporting requirements.
Drives employee engagement and workplace satisfaction by focusing on work environment contentment, team community, professional skills development and internal communication.
Provide support to the Human Resources Director and HR Benefits Coordinator as needed.
Other duties as required.

Knowledge of:
Federal and state employment laws.
HRIS systems such as ADP
Knowledge of recruitment laws, policies and practices, or the ability to acquire such knowledge.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or a relevant field desired but not required.
A minimum of 3 years proven experience in a similar role.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arms’ length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
Salary: $45,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year

Schedule:
8-hour shift
Work Location: In person/some work from home after 6 months.
