GMS and its family of companies operate a network of nearly 300 building product distribution yards, and more than 100 tool sales and service centers, for customers across the U.S. and Canada. The Field Support Center in Tucker, Georgia serves each GMS location, providing the support needed to enable local teams to deliver outstanding service to contractors and builders in their local communities.

Position Summary:

The Benefits Analyst primary job duties would be the administration, communication and analysis of benefits and Retirement Programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, various voluntary plans and 401(k) plan.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor employee eligibility, analyze, and calculate monthly premium costs for all group insurance policies.
  • Oversee/direct vendor payments to ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance and counsel to employees regarding benefit issues.
  • Conduct employee training on benefits orientation and benefits enrollment system.
  • Compile, analyze, and report benefit data for employee Benefit Plan renewal process.
  • Perform quality checks of benefits related data.
  • Assist with external audits.
  • Monitor and Reconcile vendor error reports.
  • Monitor and Reconcile bank accounts tied to vendors.
  • Enroll employees with carriers.
  • Approve qualifying life events.
  • Assist with the open enrollment process.
  • Manage and administer the company leave management process.
  • Process billing to subsidiaries and report to treasury department.
  • Provide guidance and counsel on 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
  • Process employee 401(k) changes in HRIS.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Assist with acquisitions and mergers.
  • Manage/oversee process of data transfer to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
  • Responsible for the Documentation, Record-keeping, and Maintenance of administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Develop and/or assist in the development of communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree emphasis in HR or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use Microsoft products, including PowerPoint; experience with HRIS and benefits databases; Extensive knowledge of Excel and its functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of benefits administration and human resources best practices
  • Understanding of customers service and flexibility to assist in all areas of the HR Department as needed
  • Must be able to travel domestically 30%

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time.
  • Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Must be able to manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects.
